Reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure, the role holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery and availability of all IT Infrastructure services to the global operational business. A key part of the role will be to deliver and support, based on ITIL principles.

As the development of Microsoft collaboration tools, application and services is a key strategic and operational direction of the SOS business the role holder is expected, as a minimum, to have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver and support all Microsoft services deployed, including but not restricted to MS Server, MS Operating Systems, MS SQL, MS Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, SCCM, InTune and Skype for Business. They will also, where possible, further enhance these services and develop new services throughout the business aligned to the operational business needs as well as the IT strategy, policies and procedures.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide first, second and third line hands on IT operational support
  • Be responsible for the hands on provision and support of Microsoft IT infrastructure services including networks and servers; local and wide area networks; IT security and telecommunications
  • Maintain the IT environment in line with IT security policy and procedures.
  • Create, design and involvement in IT projects as and when required.
  • Develop the role and personally in the role, in line with the IT strategic direction
  • Liaison with SOS operational management as and when required
  • Liaison with key strategic business partners as and when required.
  • Architecting, planning documentation and delivery of IT solutions
  • Be able to and be comfortable working without supervision as an IT Systems Administrator maintaining SOS standards. Microsoft Systems Administration qualification is preferred
  • Proven and demonstrable track record in medium to large enterprise environments
  • Be able to demonstrate a solid track record in quality, effective communication and achievement in the analysis, planning, design, documentation and implementation and supporting of Microsoft systems to meet defined objectives
  • Some experience of operational business engagement scenarios – Finance, Operations, HR, Logistics, Customer Service, etc.
  • Microsoft Systems Administration qualification is preferred
    • Additional Microsoft Certification would be beneficial
      • MCITP Enterprise Administrator 2008
      • MCITP SharePoint Administrator 2010
      • MCITP Lync Server Administrator 2010
