Environmental Policy
It is the policy of Swire Oilfield Services to manage all activities in such a way that it reduces their environmental impact to a practical minimum.

To provide a basis for this, the Company will operate an Environmental Management System according to the recommendations stated in BS EN ISO 14001.

The Company is committed to continual improvement of its environmental performance and intends to achieve this by setting clear environmental objectives and regularly monitoring progress against them.

The Company will ensure its operations are environmentally acceptable by: -

  • Complying with the John Swire & Sons Policy on environmental protection
  • A commitment to minimise pollution and waste generation.
  • Complying with all relevant laws, regulations and standards to safeguard employees, the community, workplace and environment.
  • Recognising and responding to community and local government organisations concern about our operations.
  • Resolving problems created by handling and disposal of hazardous substances.
  • Making safety, health and environmental considerations a priority when developing new processes and introducing new materials and chemicals into our operations.
To achieve these objectives, the Company has developed a documented Environmental Management System (EMS) in which relevant environmental aspects of the Company's activities are identified, their impacts evaluated and programmes put into place to prevent or reduce pollution.

The EMS uses existing resources and integrates with other management systems. Objectives and targets are set by senior management. Project teams are nominated who are given the task of planning, achieving and reviewing programmes to ensure completion remains on target.

In accordance with Company's commitment to the prevention of environmental pollution, this policy will be freely available to all employees, our customers, statutory authorities and any other interested party.

This policy will be subject to review from time to time to reflect changing views, information and technology.
